Malford, Ron and Boo Boo
figuring out some arrangements.
Boo Boo, Mark, Les and Malf
listening to some of the tracks.
Les, Ron, Mark, Boo Boo and
Malford listening to the tracks.

It was so great having Malford
in the studio, not to mention one
of the greatest soul singers of all time.

Ron Flynt cutting some bass tracks.
Ron is such an organized guy and
was just a pro to work with.
Brad "boo boo' Avenson and I listening.

Brad is quite the techno guru
and also the owner of Avenson Audio,
maker of the prestigious mics.

Paul Klemperer played Alto, Tenor and
Bari Saxes on the album.

He amazed me at how quickly
he shredded through the recording.
Most cuts were first takes.
Thanks Paul.

The look says it all.
Yogi Musgrove is a funny guy.
It was incredible to hear him
record Tick Tock Clock.
This was a real highlight for me.
Malford was taking a swing at one of my tunes.
It was just amazing to hear his voice
with my tunes.
The "Mighty Jim Lutz" was kind enough
to play on the album.

Jim has been a friend of mine for several
years now and it was such an honor
to have him take time for this project
with his busy schedule.
Jim plays with amazing Soul.

I consider Ron Huckaby to be one of music’s
greatest honkytonk pianists but he blew me away
playing R&B.

I have worked with Ron at live shows many times
and he is equally organized in the studio.
I still can’t get over the Wurlizer parts
he put in “Blind”.

I believe everything we used in mixdown
was Ron’s first take.

Tom Hollingshead let me play his
Steinway B for recording “That was My Heart”…
thanks man, Tom is seen here cutting tracks
for “Just One Moment”.

Tom has been a buddy of mine for many years
and has been a pillar through this entire project.

Carter Arrington at the young age of 23 is simply
amazing to watch and hear. Carter is arguably
the most talented young guitarist performing
in Austin. He mixes complexity with simplicity
to bring a sound to these songs I never imagined.
His playing is just mesmerizing.
I had worked with Mike Koenning on a previous
studio project (Jennie Dieball) so it was a natural
for me to ask him to help on this project.

Mike is one laid-back easy-going guy
who seems to just read my mind when it comes
to playing the right stuff.

Utah Hamrick may just be the nicest guy
on the planet. I can't say enough about
how great he was to work with. Mighty Fine Playa!

Jerry Harkins is a great guy that I profess
has the best tone a steel player has ever found.
I found Jerry out playing with my buddy
Dave Jorgenson and had to -steel- him
for a day in the studio.
